Opis
The port of Kantrida is located in the western part of the city of Rijeka near the FC Rijeka football field in the geographical position φ = 45 ° 20,3'N, λ = 014 ° 22,6'E. The harbour is well sheltered from all wind directions and the entrance to the harbour faces west. The port is protected from the south winds by an embankment which is a continuation of the auxiliary football field. At the end of the embankment on the south side of the harbour there is a port light with the characteristics of GFl4s. A concrete breakwater about twenty meters long was built on the northern sideof the port, which narrows the entrance to the port and protects it from winds from the west. The port has just over 100 berths for boats and is known as one of the most popular ports on the Adriatic. Depths in the harbour range from a few meters at the entrance to 1 m at the ends. The port is managed by the Kantrida Sports Fishing Association, which also manages the fishing huts located above the port. The port has a crane for raising and lowering boats with a capacity of 2.5 t and space for maintaining the vessels. It is connected to the road network and equipped with connections to the city water supply and electricity network. Near the port of Kantrida, there is a pool with an unusual arched construction for reflectors, and between the pool and the port there is a small shipyard.
