Opis
The museum and gallery space the "House of the Lovran Guc" is located at the entrance to the Square of St George right next to the centre of the Municipality of Lovran Tourist Board in a building leaning against the Lovran tower. The main exhibit of the interpretation centre, the old Lovran guc, built by Nino Gasparinic, then inherited by his son Bruno, after which the trace of the guc was almost lost, was first purchased and then thoroughly restored. This original Lovran guc, 4.95 m long and 1.88 m wide, registration number OP 279, is set in a hollowed-out floor which, with its decoration and decorative lighting, evokes the seabed. The space of the interpretation centre is enriched with numerous drawings, models and shipbuilding tools. A simulated 3D view of the construction of the Lovran guc with all the parts installed during the construction of the vessel, as well as drawings and texts from the professional literature, is shown multimedially. The interpretation centre further presents the four most famous Lovran shipbuilders – Nino Gasparinic, Bruno Vicenzo Gasparinic, Ivan Kalčić and Gianfranco Sirotnjak, and the walls are decorated with specially made panels on which you can learn all about the parts of the guc in four languages. The space is also used for occasional thematic exhibitions. The history of the Lovran guc as a vessel is shown in the space with an exhibited copy of the original restored guc, legends about Lovran shipbuilders and guc designs by Luciano Keber on the panels.
