Opis
The Prestenica lighthouse is located on the eponymous peninsula of the island of Cres on the east side of the channel Vela Vrata, south of the bay and the town of Porozina. The lighthouse is located in a secluded place about ten meters from the sea. It is 600 meters away from the nearest road. The lighthouse stone building consists of a ground floor and a first floor with a tower in the middle of the roof. At the top of the tower there is a light with characteristics W DFl 10s (2 + 8)s. The lighthouse is surrounded by a spacious fenced yard. In front of the lighthouse there is a pier with a crane for smaller vessels. The lighthouse is automated and the lighthouse crew does not stay in it. Although abandoned, the lighthouse is not devastated due to the fact that it is relatively inaccessible and located far from the nearest civilization.
