Opis
The tide gauge in Bakar is located near the coast in the area of Primorje. A tide gauge is a device that continuously measures changes in sea level over time at one location or at one point. The device reads the sea level record obtained by the float-counterweight system. Changes in sea level are recorded continuously on the tide gauge on the scale 1:5 or 1:10, depending on the installed device. Mean daily values were obtained based on 24-hour measurements on tide gauges. Daily measurements are used to analyze half-day and daily variations of tidal waves. Mean monthly or annual values of sea levels are also obtained from average daily or monthly values. The maximum value of the tide recorded on the tide gauge in Bakar was on 29 October 2018 when the water level exceeded the mean sea level by 127 cm. This was the highest water level recorded since 1929, when the station was founded in Bakar.
